Okooko has opened a Philadelphia located in Old City. Okooko: Philadelphia is the first United States retail store of the New Zealand-based bedroom furniture manufacturer, Design Mobel. Okooko, meaning “to cradle in arms” is celebrating its US launch with an exciting evening of delectable New Zealand-inspired hors d’oeuvres, 42 Below cocktails, and a live performance by the Kahurnagi Maori Dance Theatre of New Zealand. Guests were among the first to view the beautiful bedroom ranges and accessories designed by the New Zealand-based manufacturer and had the opportunity to meet and speak with CEO, Dave Macfarlane, as well as, learn about the Design Mobel product line and Okooko global retail stores that are engrained in sustainable and green practices. Okooko’s furniture ranges from the classic sleigh beds to modern designs with built-in I-pod docks; all mattresses are personalized to each customer.
